What could be better than Hugs & Kisses for iheartfaces this week?  A perfect excuse to show off my favorite portrait/outtake of these boys ;)

iheartfaces – Hearts

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, so “hearts” is the theme at iheartfaces this week.  Perfect excuse to try and convince my Duders for an impromptu mini-session.  And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a little bribery ;)

I have a nice smiling one of Dek, but this outtake does a much better job at displaying his personality.

iheartfaces – The Letter “L”

The Letter “L” is the theme at iheartfaces this week.  It’s their week off and they’re trying a brand new kind of challenge.  This week, we’re uploading our “L” photos to their Facebook page… but because I’m using their contests as an excuse/reason to blog, I figured I’d post it here too.

What could fit the theme better than this little duder? His initials are L.L – but I affectionately refer to him as “Chuck” :)  He’s over a year old already – where did the time go!?

iheartfaces – Oh So Silly

“Oh so Silly” is the theme at iheartfaces this week.
My little brother is the silliest person I know, and this engagement portrait of him and his wife is one of my favourite “Silly” photos.
The two of them got married in Las Vegas in October, and they wanted something a little different, and something that reflected their personalities, for their wedding invitations.  This is what we ended up with, and I love it. And I love them!  Popped collar, sideburns, Elvis glasses, and that sneer – perfection.

iheartfaces – By the Book

This weeks iheartfaces challenge states that we need to use a book as some kind of a prop, but that a face still needs to be clearly showing in our photo.
No problemo!
While this isn’t a new portrait, it’s one of my all-time favorites – and it fits within the rules easily.

This is one of Easton’s first portraits. If I were to give it a title, it’d be called “Namesakes“.

iheartfaces – Family Fun

I set a goal for myself to enter these contests every week, and I’ve almost failed already! Good grief.  Mummyhood to TWO little duders, Wifey to Mister, plus a full-time day job, really doesn’t leave much time for much else.  I’m trying very hard to find a balance, without giving up my passion for photography. So here, we go, my entry for this weeks iheartfaces contest.

The theme this week is Family Fun.
At least three human faces, and family, and fun.
This image covers all the bases :)  Here is three generations of beautiful ladies, Loving Life.

iheartfaces – Best Face Photo from 2011

If you’re a regular follower of my blog or Facebook page, you’ve seen this photo before.  When I asked Mister which was my best face photo from last year, he didn’t even hesitate to say this one.  I love it in black & white too, but there’s something about this colour version that really brings it to life.

To the newcomers, it is my pleasure to introduce Mr & Mrs. Shields.
This portrait was shot after their wedding reception, on the Brooklyn Bridge outside of the NYNY Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

iheartfaces – Silly Holiday Photos

Despite the cold/flu that has overtaken my house these past few weeks, I’m determined to get back into blogging. At least more than I have been the last few months.
I figured that one of the best ways for me to do that, was to start participating in iheartfaces contests again. Being given a weekly assignment is a nice challenge. It’s something to strive for when I don’t have any shoots lined up, or when I just feel lacking in general motivation.

They’ve skipped contest week this week, and instead everyone is just sharing their favorite silly holiday photos.
That, I can handle! :)

Chrismtas Eve Outtake

I like to take a quick snapshot of the duders with Santa’s cookies and irish cream every year.  This year was no small feat. I got pretty much nothing but outtakes.  These boys just crack me up.

iheartfaces – Props

I’ve been on a bit of a blogging hiatus.
Life has been busy, and as always, my family takes priority.
Between wedding season, my last few weeks at home with my boys before returning to my day-job, my baby boy’s first birthday, and summer in general, there just never seems to be enough hours in the day.
That being said… I’m ready to jump back into blogging just in time for this weeks iheartfaces contest.

The theme this week is “Props”.  While my props might not be the most traditional, I think they have to count.
I wasn’t a very strong photographer when my Tadpole turned one, so I knew that I really wanted to knock it out of the park with the Worm’s 1st birthday portrait.
We didn’t have a big party, but we had family over for Ooh La La “Cookie Monster” cupcakes (and they were sooooo good!).  My Worm made such a mess – exactly the opposite to his big brother on his 1st birthday.

I couldn’t have been much happier with this portrait… the birthday boy, cupcake mess, balloons, a birthday hat… and a SMIRK!!

iheartfaces – iheartTULIPS!

No faces this week… it’s a floral photo challenge instead.

What better way to add some sunshine to this gloomy May day, than with some TULIPS! My favorite :)
Our new house doesn’t have much in the way of tulips, but it sure will next year! In any case, I made sure to get some photos of the tulips at our old house so that I wouldn’t have to deal with withdrawl.

PS – Hoping to get back into the swing of blogging now that we’ve moved in.  It’ll take ages to get settled, I’m sure, but at least we’re IN.
